Continuing Student Scholarship Application

Please read the following information before starting your Continuing Scholarship Application. You will not be able to save your scholarship application and return to it.

1. You will need to enter your NKU user name and your nine digit Biller Direct student ID number on the application form:

  • Your user name is what you use to log in to NKU email, campus computers, and myNKU.
     
  • To find your Student ID number, log in to myNKU at mynku.nku.edu, click on the Biller Direct tab, and look at your name and address at the top of your Account Statement. Your Student ID number is listed to the right of your address (see the illustration below).

2. You will be asked to type an essay of approximately 250 words in response to this topic: People have various definitions of success (career, wealth, civic engagement). How do you define success? When you look back on your life in thirty years, what would it take for you to consider your life successful?

3. This scholarship application must be accompanied by at least one letter of recommendation.

  • If you are applying for the William H. Greaves Scholarship or the CINSAM Scholarship, two letters of recommendation, one from a science professor and one from a math professor, must accompany this application.
     
  • If you are applying for the Dean's Scholarship, one letter of recommendation from a professor in your major must accompany this application.
     
  • If you are applying for the Noyce Scholarship, three letters of recommendation from faculty members, including one from the Noyce supervisor if applicable, must accompany this application. You will also be asked to write a 1200 word essay addressing the following questions: "Why do you want to be a secondary mathematics teacher? What qualities do you hold that would make you a good teacher? Why do you want to be a secondary mathematics teacher in a high need district?"

Once you have the required information, you may begin your Continuing Scholarship Application for 2012-13.
